MORTUARY
EDUCATION PROGRAM

Our embalmer/mortuary manager, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Embalming with 20 years experience, is currently in the process of creating an accredited course that will address some of the main aspects of the skills required to become being a valuable employee in a funeral home mortuary. This 2-3 day course will be conducted in our own mortuary in Kallangur and will cover:

·         the legal, moral and ethical requirements in working with deceased persons

·         appropriate PPE use

·         maintaining a safe and sanitized mortuary

·         the transferring of a deceased person from one location to another

·         basic preparations of a deceased person

·         encoffining a deceased person in a dignified manner

In order to be accepted into this program, an interview will be conducted between yourself and members of our team. During this interview, we will go through the course in more detail and attempt to learn more about your own particular circumstances to see if it is right for you. As you can appreciate, this work is highly specialised and comes with a certain degree of intrinsic difficulties, both physical and mental. It is important that all parties involved understand the risk and special circumstances that come with having such a unique and highly sensitive job.

If you would like to learn more about this part of the funeral industry and participate in a short course like this, let us know by filling in the form below and we will contact you with more information.

NOTE: This course is still in the early days of creation. Your expressions of interest will be highly beneficial to our team as we build a fitting course for students to be involved in.
